Accessibility
Last updated 12 October 2026
We want everyone to be able to use the tools and read the guides, including people who use a keyboard, a screen reader, zoom or other assistive technology. This page says what we aim for, what we have done, and what we know is not yet right.
Our commitment
Lift Journey aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. Because the site is operated by Shabloool, which is based in Israel, we also aim to meet Israeli Standard 5568, the Israeli web accessibility standard, which is based on WCAG.
We have checked the site ourselves against these guidelines. It has not yet been audited by an outside accessibility expert.
What we have done
- Structure. Pages use standard HTML: a single main heading, headings in order (with one exception, listed below), and marked header, navigation, main content and footer areas. The page language is set to English. Tables have header rows.
- Keyboard. Every link, button and form control can be reached and used with the keyboard alone. A "Skip to content" link is the first thing you reach with the Tab key, and the element in focus always has a clearly visible outline.
- Forms and results. Every input in the calculators and the newsletter form has a label. The option buttons (kg or lb, program, paper size) are standard radio buttons, so screen readers announce them as such. When a calculator's result changes, screen readers are told.
- Contrast. Body text, links and buttons have a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 against their background, in both the light and the dark theme. The dark theme follows your device setting.
- Images. The site has no photos. The logo and the plate-loading diagram are decorative and hidden from screen readers; everything the diagram shows is also written out as text next to it.
- Small screens and zoom. The layout adapts to screens as narrow as 320 pixels, and pinch-to-zoom is never blocked. Wide tables scroll inside their own box on most pages; the exceptions are listed below.
- No moving or playing content. There is no video, audio or auto-playing media, and nothing on the page moves by itself.
- Reduced motion. The small hover and press effects on buttons and cards are switched off if your device is set to reduce motion.
Known limitations
- In the dark theme, the small red numbering labels on the tool cards (for example "Tool 01") have a contrast ratio of about 4.3:1, just below the 4.5:1 that WCAG asks for.
- The printable log preview in the Lifting Log Generator is drawn at the real width of an A4 or Letter page, so on a narrow screen it scrolls sideways inside its own box. The rest of the page, including all the settings, fits the screen.
- In the same preview, the headings for each training day are third-level headings that sit directly under the page's main heading, with no second-level heading for the week in between. Screen reader users who navigate by heading level may find this confusing.
- On a 320-pixel-wide screen, the tables in two guides (12-week strength block and When to deload) are wider than the screen, so the whole page scrolls sideways.
There may be other problems we have not found. If something on the site is hard or impossible for you to use, please tell us.
